Established in the city centre, it unites behind its colours and honours its crest and its region. The Spirou de Charleroi
Collecting Belgian championship titles, the Spirou de Charleroi has become one of the main reference points for Belgian basketball. Created in 1989, the club invested in the Spiroudôme, a huge, modern space with a 6,300-seat capacity!
The Circuit de Chimay
Recognised for its picturesque route through rural landscapes and villages, the Circuit de Chimay is one of the last road circuits in Europe. Each year, it hosts tens of thousands of visitors making it one of Wallonia’s most popular tourist destinations. Paul Frère, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi or Niki Lauda are only a few of the names of the legendary drivers who have faced the circuit de Chimay.
Charleroi Métropole also hosts a number of famous sporting competitions and events. The region has a full range of infrastructures which support sport at both professional and amateur level.
